ABORT DAMPERS

ABORT DAMPERS PROTECT EMPLOYEES AND MANUFACTURING FACILITIES BY EXHAUSTING FIRES AND EXPLOSIONS TO THE ATMOSPHERE.

An abort damper is installed on the return duct of a dust collection system carrying filtered air back to the customer's plant. This aborting device is activated by a properly installed spark or fire detection system, which instantly expels the air to the atmosphere.

When combustible materials such as wood or paper are being conveyed pneumatically in dust collection systems, abort dampers are recommended by NFPA codes when recycling the filtered air.

These devices are fabricated from heavy gauge reinforced steel and they are mounted on horizontal ducts. When the damper is in the abort position, a 120-Volt signal is activated which can be used to operate a light or an alarm.
